Glass fiber reinforced plastic pipes are also known as glass fiber wound sand pipes (RPM pipes). It mainly uses glass fiber and its products as reinforcing materials, polymer-based unsaturated polyester resins, epoxy resins, etc. as basic materials, and inorganic non-metal particulate materials such as quartz sand and calcium carbonate as fillers as main raw materials. The standard effective lengths of the tube are 6m and 12m. There are three methods for making the tube: fixed-length winding process, centrifugal casting process and continuous winding process. Can be classified according to the product's process method, pressure level PN and stiffness level SN.

Features
(1) Corrosion resistance: chemical inert material, excellent corrosion resistance, and according to the corrosion resistance of medium to choose different pipes.

(2) Mechanical strength, resistance to water pressure strength, resistance to external pressure strength and impact strength are good and can be designed and manufactured according to the requirements of the pressure piping and fittings.

(3) Strong adaptability to temperature, temperature range of use: more than - 70 - c is less than 250 degrees Celsius, pipe don't crack under freezing medium.

(4) Fluid resistance small, pipe wall smooth, rough coefficient of 0.0084, under the same flow rate, pipe diameter can be narrowed.

Advantages

1, High strength, lower weight: For same diameter and working situation, RPM pipe's weight is only 1/3 of Carbon Steel's, 1/5 of casting steel's and 1/10 concrete's. When installation, it can save lifting fee, and quick installing. 
FRP pipe can anti acid, alkali, salt, sea water, waste water, corrosion soil,  ground water and other chemical liquid.

2, Good hydrodynamic performance: save piping pump energy. For same pipe diameter, FRP pipe can save pump energy around 30-40%. When pumping same flow rate, FRP with sand pipe diameter can decrease around 10-25%. Saving investment, shorting pump time. Especially, for un-continuously water supply, it can save around 1/3 pumping and energy. The inner wall of FRP pipe with sand is very smooth, even many years used, the inner wall can be smooth as beginning. It is said smooth hydraulic pipe.

4, Lower maintenance fee: need not any rust protection, corrupt prevention and insulation. For ground pipe, need not cathode protection, saving engineering fee over 70%.
